#VIRTUALBOX ALTERNATIVE MAC OS X#
Oracle VM VirtualBox is available as Open Source or pre-built Binaries for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris.

For example, you can run Windows and Linux on your Mac, run Linux and Solaris on your Windows PC, or run Windows on you Linux systems. And "Virtualization Software" means that you can create and run multiple Virtual Machines, running different operating systems, on the same computer at the same time. 993785279 - if anyone does get this working, please let us know."Cross-platform" means that it installs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris x86 computers. I do see a question and comment on this, but not sure what the current state is. Actually it would be interesting to see a QEMU adapter for Vagrant, for cases where Docker isn’t appropriate. In terms of UTM, since the core is QEMU, that integration will happen there.

Generally the paid options are always going to be better, while the free ones generally get better integration with other tools.

That way, you can take advantage of ARM-native Windows software where it’s available, and Microsoft’s x86/圆4 emulation performance is fairly decent even inside Parallels (it’s not Rosetta, but it’s also better than UTM). Okay option in a pinch if you really need 圆4 Windows and can accept significant slowness, but Parallels with Windows 11 on ARM is probably going to be the better option for most normal users. I have some posts elsewhere here (can’t dig them up right now) about my experiences getting Windows working in UTM… it’s definitely legit, and it’ll get Windows working, but it’s not fast.
